Tech Donates Life-Saving Equipment

The donated device will help first responders at the MTFD by providing consistent chest compression to maintain circulation for cardiac arrest patients, a valued resource to the EMS crew that responds to more than 2,000 calls a year.
“The LUCAS device is like a force multiplier,” said Fire Chief Dudley Wright. “The machine allows our team to improve the service we provide by continuing life-saving chest compressions without interruption when moving a patient, and by reducing the number of personnel needed to deliver prolonged cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, during extended transports to the hospital.”
Tech’s donation will provide MTFD with its second LUCAS device, allowing the department to use the equipment while on simultaneous runs.
“Donations from supporters like Tech allow us to add lifesaving equipment to our resources and improve service to our community, said Wright.
MTFD serves 12,000 residents in four central Ohio townships, including the village of Johnstown.
